Hai I’m Tomcat u may call me Charlie

I just know it….HOW COME ar….hehe

This insect called Tomcat or its glamour name at my place is Charlie’s angles oppss…it only called CHARLIE!!...it also known as Paederus dermatitis. Its special ability is emitting poisonous liquid.

Beware of Charlie….Its small and cute but the fluid expelled may causes tremendous itching and can make the skin blister. Charlie will automatically discharge toxic when in contact with our body part because its a way to protect itself

This skin irritation results from contact with pederin,a vesicant toxin in the hemolymph of many but not all females in the genus Paederus. The toxin is manufactured, not by the beetles themselves, but by endosymbiont bacteria, probably some species of Pseudomonas
